How to count calories from a photo
Take a photo of your plate from above in good light. AI identifies the foods, estimates portion weights and calculates calories, protein, fat and carbs. Portion weight from a photo is an estimate, so check the grams and correct them if you know the exact weight.

How to take a good photo
- Shoot from above or at a 45° angle
- Keep the whole plate in frame, avoid harsh shadows
- Place a fork or your hand nearby to show scale
- Add sauces and cooking oil as text: they are invisible in photos
What affects accuracy
Separate foods (rice, chicken, vegetables) are recognized best. Soups, casseroles and dishes in sauce are harder. Frying oil can add 100–200 kcal that a photo cannot see.
